“Faster, Higher, Stronger” consists of a series of performance video projections and an on-site installation. The video projections showcase three sets of “races” that abstract and reconstruct the Olympic rules, using the looseness to reinterpret the slogan “Faster, Higher, Stronger”. The three games are stacking peppers, potato racing and egg weight-bearing. Their humorous and low-tech artistic language satirizes the high-profile celebration capitalization of the Olympics as a new labor industry, which has lost its spirit of play. The on-site installation includes three rolled paper tubes as projection screens, inviting the audience to take and use the paper rolls, symbolizing consumption at their fingertips.
