Durational performance

“Debate” is an interactive performance that happened in the International Museum of Surgical Science in Chicago. While wandering like a ghost in the museum space and dressing with the numerous  masks on my body, I witnessed the confusion and hesitation of the audience caused by the unlocatable facial expressions. I asked them to read the notes on my body and write down what they asked for on a mask piece. With words that sting, soothe, debunk, praise, sincerity, hypocrisy, my body was composed of new geographies through others’ eyes and speaking. Eventually, all these words were melted by the water, laid down in the coffin, and my original body was revealed again.
